Yes, many of our fire pit designs can be customised in size to suit your outdoor area and project requirements.

Designer fire pits such as the Wood Store Fire Pit and Rail Fire Pit can be adapted to different dimensions. You can select from our available standard bowl sizes, or we can arrange for a custom-sized steel bowl to be spun where feasible.

Please contact us with your preferred dimensions, intended location and design requirements so we can advise on the most suitable options.

We can design and fabricate a fire pit shell with a provision for a nominated ethanol burner.

You can select one of our existing fireball designs, such as the Zen Fireball or Koru Fireball, or discuss a custom fire pit designed around your chosen burner.

The main differences between cast-iron and steel fire pits are their thickness, weight and manufacturing method.

Our spun steel fire pit bowls are generally made from approximately 3 mm Corten steel. Cast-iron bowls are formed from cast metal and are typically around 10 mm thick, making them substantially heavier and more difficult to move.

Both materials can be suitable for outdoor use when appropriately maintained. Corten steel develops a natural rust patina or can be finished with a heat-resistant potbelly black paint finish.

Our black steel fire pit bowls are finished with heat-resistant potbelly black paint that strengthens with heat. This coating helps protect the steel by reducing its exposure to air and moisture.

However, If the surface is scratched or the coating wears away, the exposed steel may begin to rust.

We recommend inspecting the finish regularly and applying a suitable heat-resistant coating whenever scratches, worn areas or surface corrosion become visible.

A fire pit should not be placed directly on timber decking or another combustible surface.

Heat, flames, sparks and embers can create a serious fire risk, even when the fire pit has a raised base. The fire pit must be installed on a stable, level and non-combustible surface with appropriate clearances from buildings, vegetation, furniture and other flammable materials.

Always follow local fire restrictions, council requirements and the relevant safety instructions for your fire pit and fuel type.

Most of our fire pits are designed to be used with a fitted lid to help prevent rainwater and debris from collecting in the bowl when it is not in use.

Some hand-spun steel bowls may have a small centre hole created as part of the spinning process. The design and location of any drainage opening will depend on the specific fire pit model.

A standard weather lid should only be placed over the fire pit once the fire has been fully extinguished.

Yes, lids are available in various sizes.

You can select from our standard lid sizes, or we can manufacture a custom lid to suit a custom-sized bowl. A fitted lid helps keep rainwater, leaves and debris out of the fire pit while it is not being used.

We can design decorative fire pit surrounds and fireball sculptures with provisions for a nominated ethanol burner that is specifically approved for indoor use.
